INFORMATION ON BUYING FROM US:

PRICES
First let’s start by covering my prices. I like to be upfront, no surprises. All puppies are AKC registered will vary in price from $600 to $800 for Limited registration depending on the breeding.  Litter prices  will be posted on the for sale page with the info on anything I currently have available. I put a great deal of time and money into my bassets and am very proud of the care and quality of my dogs. Most people find my prices fair and comparable to other breeders, but if you do not agree then I am not the breeder for you.
 I am an advocate of Spay/Neuter, so IF/WHEN I offer Full registration the price is considerably more and only to certain approved homes. 
Why  Limited Registration?
An AKC limited registration fully registers that puppy as an AKC registered dog but does not allow offspring from that dog to be registered with AKC. Plus, If you only want this puppy as a pet and companion it is healthier for him or her to never breed. My puppies have champion pedigrees and are top of the line, they may or may not be show dogs but they’re better than average, and average to below average is what your going to get from a pet store or puppy mill. I don't make full registration available as I do NOT wish to contribute to the puppy mill problem.

WHAT IS INCLUDED WITH THE PURCHASE OF ONE OF OUR PUPPIES?
Each puppy purchased from us will have recieved 3 rounds of Strongid dewormer and their first round of puppy shots at 6 weeks.
Each will also come with a Puppy registration application, Purina Puppy Starter Kit, and an Information packet.
The Information Kit is a personalized binder from me to you, filled with information on your puppy including:
 A copy of the Puppy Contract, Health guarantee, and current Health Record
Information on Puppy training and Care
Information on Spay/Neuter and why we strongly recommend it
Pictures and Pedigree of both parents
 My contact information so you can reach me with questions or send me pictures of your puppy to be put on my Past Puppies page
 and anything else I come up with that I think you might need!!!

RESERVE A PUPPY IN ADVANCE OR GET ON THE WAITING LIST???
If I don't currently have puppies available or are waiting on delivery of a litter, you can check out the FUTURE PUPPIES page for information on pregnant females or planned breedings in the near future.
There are two options for potential buyers: get on the Alert List   OR   pay a deposit to lock in a picking order.

THE PUPPY ALERT LIST: THERE IS NO OBLIGATION TO BUY PUPPY BY GETTING ON THIS LIST!
If we are expecting puppies and you see a pairing that suits you simply fill out the above PUPPY APPLICATION asking to be put on the puppy alert list. How does it work?  Well once I get your application and I will contact you asking a few questions and for confirmation.  Then once puppies arrive you will be notified of any available puppies remaining AFTER all the prepaid deposits are filled. 
 The reason for the list is so potentially interested people will receive updates on the litter and it puts them in line for a puppy if they decide they want one. KEEP IN MIND:  I do the list as a courtesy, but I cannot continue to e-mail people forever, so I usually put a deadline on my emails for a response (if I ask for something in particular like if you are still interested, ect.) and I always ask that those no longer interested ask to be removed from the list. These are just my ways of keeping my list current. Some people will ask to be taken off the list, but others will not, so if people stop responding I can assume they are no longer interested and remove them from the list.
RESERVING A PUPPY with a PREPAID DEPOSIT:  DEPOSITS ARE NONREFUNDABLE UNLESS CERTAIN CRITERIA ARE MET THAT ARE OUTLINED IN OUR CONTRACT
If you decide you are commited to our kennel and absolutely want one of our puppies then I suggest paying a deposit to get a locked in picking order-this moves you ahead of everyone on the alert list and I can tell you at the time of receipt what order you are locked in for.  How? I compile a list of PREPAID puppy deposits in the order received and that becomes the picking order when a litter arrives.  Deposits are $100.  I do have a puppy contract, health/satisfaction guarantee, and shipping agreements to be reviewed, signed, and returned to me with your deposit.  This is for your benefit as well as mine.  I do allow for special circumstances on deposits such as color requirements, sex, time frame for a puppy, ect.  Most times I'll work with you, so feel free to ask.

PICKING YOUR PUPPY
 If you pay a deposit for a puppy you will be given a picking order. There will be separate lists depending on if you prefer a boy or a girl. I don't require a decision until around 4 weeks. All I ask is that as soon as you have a preference on a certain puppy to please let me know so others farther down the list can be choosing. For example: Once the list is compiled I will ask that the first person in line for a girl and a boy let me know just as soon as they know which puppy they want that way the #2 person can be deciding, and so on until everyone on the list has chosen. Until 4 weeks you can't really tell much other than color but between 4 and 6 weeks they are really taking off so choosing will be easier then.

PICKING UP YOUR PUPPY
At 6 weeks old every puppy will receive their first round of shots after this shot is administered you are welcome to pick up your puppy and take it home. Keep in mind that I do work during the day so pickup will have to be convenient to my work schedule. Also, I do require advance notice of you plans to arrive so I can be sure to be home, obviously.

SHIPPING A PUPPY
I will ship puppies to those of you who are too far away to drive here and pick it up. For anyone requiring shipment of a puppy it cannot be shipped until a minimum of 8 weeks of age. All shipping expenses are the responsibility of the buyer. I will deliver to the airport for no charge but any other expenses will be yours. I believe the fees range from $200 to $300 for shipping. You have to buy a plane ticket, a carrier, have health papers, food, and possibly other requirement depending on the airline regulations.
