HUMANE SOCIETY OF THE TENNESSEE VALLEY--BARK IN THE PARK-- MAY 12TH 2007

This was our first time attending The Bark in the Park of Knoxville Tennessee.  You can visit thier webite at www.humanesocietytennessee.com for info on their origanization.  They had some really interesting games I have never seen before.  It was fun, Webster of course loved it and all the dogs, he didn't however care too much for his ninja turtle costume.

BARK IN THE PARK--LEBANON TN    MAY 5,  2007

We attended the Wilson County Humane Society's Bark in the Park this year for the first time, and it was well worth the trip.  The day started out terribly rainy but once the sun popped out all was well.  These folks really know how to have a fundraiser!  There was food, contests, info booths, and lots of freebies!  Hundreds of dogs in attendance and about 20 differerent ways to contribute to the shelter.  This was Annie and Webster's first outing, Webster loved it but apparently traveling is not Annie's cup of tea, she really seemed happy once we got there though.  She also won 1st place in the costume contest.  Webster won loads of attention and new friends, he just couldn't contain all his excitement.  The website for this shelter is:  http://www.hawconline.com/  check them out sometime it seems like they really are doing a wonderful job there!

BARK IN THE PARK--- ATHENS TN 2005

We went to this in October of 2005.  They had several booths set up, including professional photography with 100% of the money being donated to the Humane Society.  There was contests and games.  Daisey won best costume, and Rosie won cutest pet but in all honesty she had an unfair advantage--who can resist a basset hound puppy!!!

BLUEGRASS BASSET HOUND HOEDOWN---2005

My mother-in-law and I met Chris and Joni here in May 2005.  I wasn't to sure about it, but we had a ball.  They measured all the dog's legs and ears as you came in for some of the contests.  They also provide lunch and had a silent auction.  There was a photographer there, but best of all was the fact that it was off leash.  The dogs could run and play in this huge fenced in area.  Our dogs were a real hit.  The rescues bassets were available for adoption and there were lots of fun contests!  Roscoe get 3rd in longest ears and shortest legs.  Eunice won 2 or three events but most importantly she was chosen as best of show and was awarded a trophy!
